This past weekend we began our Vacation Extravaganza!
We started it off by going to Idaho. Joseph's parents were visiting Joseph's grandparents in Blackfoot. We drove up on Thursday night after our last class of swimming lessons :(. I thought this would be the best idea since it was around Davey's bedtime; I thought Davey would fall asleep for the trip. Yikes, I was wrong.
We didn't have any extra batteries for our camera, so all the pictures are courtesy of images.google.com.
Friday
The big adventure for Friday was going to the Idaho Potato Museum. In all the trips I've made to Blackfoot, I've never been there and it had been a while since Joseph had brushed up on his potato history. The museum was a lot better than everybody thought and I learned some interesting things about potatoes.
Here is a picture of the world's largest potato chip.
Later that night I played some board games with Joseph's mom and uncle (who is the resident board game expert), while Joseph watched some March Madness. Saturday
Joseph, Joseph's dad and I headed out early in the morning to attend the Idaho Falls Temple. Joseph had actually never been before, so we both had a good time enjoying the beauty of this temple. Joseph's dad also showed us were he purposed to Joseph's mom.

Later that day we watched a movie and played some more board games. Then we went to Rupes (a local hamburger and ice cream shop) for some famous root beer ice cream. Yum! I am always sad when we stop by Blackfoot without getting a Rupes' root beer ice cream.
Sunday
Sunday was an exciting day for us, because Davey went to nursery for the first time. Since, Joseph and I are currently attending a singles ward on Sundays, there is no class for Davey :( . Davey was extra cranky that morning, so I was really nervous about how he would do. We dropped Davey off at the class and he immediately started playing with some toys, so Joseph and I just left without any goodbyes. Half way between church Joseph and I went and peeked in at Davey through a window on the door and saw that he was sitting in a chair with the other kids listening to some songs, so we just left again. After church, I went to go get him and he was really excited to see me. I think he wanted to try and tell me all about this class. He showed me his coloring page and he got a blue smiley face sticker, too.
I was so proud of my little Davey. The nursery teachers were surprised that it was his first time in nursery and said that he did great! Now I can't wait to go back to the married ward so Davey can go to nursery every week.
After church we ate dinner and then headed back to Utah so the drive would be during Davey's nap time. This time Davey didn't even make it to the freeway before he fall asleep and he stayed asleep for most of the drive back. Yay!
We had a great trip and are already looking forward to stage two of our Vacation Extravaganza.
We leave tomorrow for California!
Happy Easter!

That's too bad that Davey didn't fall asleep on the trip there. We drove to AZ last summer, through the night, cuz I didn't want to stop during the day to nurse her. But I nursed her to sleep then put her in her car seat, and fortunately she stayed asleep.
That is awesome that Davey did so well in nursery for the first time! Do you know when you'll be able to go to a married ward (with nursery) again?
Your trip looks/sounds like a ton of fun!!!
