... since I last blogged. I wonder if that is a record, maybe I'll do the research. Recently, my sister gave up on her blog, she moved on, I was really sad about. We've talked that maybe the whole blogging bandwagon fad is over. But I don't care. Here is my blog, and I hope it says for a long while still.
Davey
The start of 2010 greeted us with a still "mute" Davey. Also, I thought that teaching signing was over. Davey already knew every sign I thought would be helpful to know.
Today, Davey has an English vocabulary of SEVEN (7) words: Mama, Dada, Car, Ball, Go, Up, and oddly enough, Banana (pronounced "buh" long pause "nana").
Davey's signing vocabulary has exploded thanks to the initial breakdown of not letting Davey watch TV when I checked out a "Signing Time" DVD from our library. Davey loves these movies and often signs "time" as his way of asking to watch the movies, but we are holding fast to only letting him watch it once a day.
Some signs Davey can do: food/eat, cheese, bread, cereal, cracker, apple, water, stop, go, help, bird, laugh, Jesus, night-night/bed time, blanket, phone, please, thank you, ball, car, bike, train, monkey, gorilla, star, sun, bath, time, baby, turtle, fish, book, read, wash hands, brush teeth.
Davey's new favorite thing, since he learned how to climb on chairs, is to get onto the computer desk or the kitchen table and cause all kinds of havoc. He is also enjoying his swimming lessons he started in the first week of March. He has learned not to cry when getting dunk in the water and how to hold on to the side of the wall and to kick his feet. We are still working on blowing bubbles. I have a lot of fun taking him to them, too.
Kristi
I haven't been doing much, excuse, pregnant.
I had a few weeks of low energy and extreme tiredness. Thanks to daylight savings, I've been able to sleep in these last few days and that has made a lot of difference. I also can sleep through the night now.
I had a real hard time with this for a few weeks, if I'd wake up, for whatever reason, I couldn't fall back to sleep for 1 hour or longer, some nights I never went back to sleep. Little Chase would bother me with his/her moving so much I couldn't rest. I don't really feel Little Chase moving around as much, although I do still enough not to be worried.
I enter my third trimester in a few days. It seems weird. I feel like I just got pregnant. With Davey the pregnancy took way to long, this one is not taking long enough. I also don't feel very big anymore. I think I had a fast growth spurt, but then I haven't grown in weeks. This pregnancy has been different from Davey's in so many ways (a girl?). One thing is that I am craving fruits and I don't have the same chicken and ground beef aversion like I did with Davey. Also, with Davey once I hit 16 weeks I felt better and never looked back. This time I still feel sick in the morning and if I try to drink and eat breakfast at the same time, I will always throw up, but I still try it every few days, I'll never learn.
Joseph
Joseph is just the same as always. Going to school. Loving his calling.
Valentine's Day
Here is my take on the holiday. I don't expect it to be a big deal, I hope my husband shows romance randomly through out the year, but I do expect some kind of thoughtful gesture.
This year, Joseph took me out to lunch at the Skyroom, a restaurant at BYU on the top floor of the Wilk Student Center. They had a special valentine buffet. I had never been there before and it was great. Then we went and saw The Princess and the Frog, with Davey, which means it was a disaster. I also got a couple of boxes of chocolate, which were deliciously devoured.
For Joseph, I teamed up with my friend, Katy, to make our husbands some great little candies. We made chocolate-covered strawberries and from Bakerella's website Oreo Kisses and Cake Balls. You shouldn't surprised, but Joseph only ate one or two of them. I really hope that there is cooking and eating in heaven, because I am certain it will take longer than this earth life to make my husband something that he'll like better than store bought Oreos and ice cream. I still have hope, but that hope stretches off into eternity.
For Davey, I whipped up a batch of my zucchini bread muffins. He loved them.
Three of Davey's favorite things
A stuffed animal, preferably one stolen from another kid, like the one shown here; his basketball and his friends, this is his friend, Hannah.
March Madness
I know that the probability of having a prefect bracket are near impossible. But every year I start off hoping that I am really lucky. So just in case, here are Joseph's and my bracket as proof.
In reality I hope that New Mexico and BYU do a lot better than I've reflected on my bracket pickings.

Great update! Lots of news. I might have to try the signing video. Valentine's Day is great but built up to be way more than most people can live up to year after year. But we try anyway...

So glad to read the update! I'm impressed with Davey's sign language. We are trying with Blake, but mostly he laughs at us... Did you ever get the mail I sent you?
Kristi, so glad to get an update!!! I've been waiting to hear how the pregnancy is going. I totally feel for you on the whole not sleeping part. I'd like to say, "Don't worry. It will get better." But seeing as how you already know how the story goes I don't think I can lie. You'll make it through though. Even if you end up like me and look like a drug addict all the time with black circles under my eyes :). Can't wait for your next update!
COngratulations!!! I didn't know you were pregnant! That is really exciting. Loved the update!
