This Month Is Such A Special One!

September is a special month for the Chase family. Why? Because it's birthday fun times 3!

Kristi

My birthday comes first, when the family is full of birthday excitement and anticipation. The night before we decided to start the celebration with pizza and a movie (17 again, very funny).

The next day, Davey woke up with a bad fever. We went out to eat at, can you guess it? Sizzler! Boy do we love that place.

Later, Joseph went to campus to watch the BYU football game, you know the one were we beat #3 Oklahoma. I stayed home with poor sick Davey and watched The Hannah Montana movie, pretty good. Joseph came home and we ate some Sara Lee pie he had picked up.

The day I left my sister's house in California, she took me to Anthropologie to let me pick something out for my birthday, Fancy Smancy!

A few days later we used our free Red Robin hamburgers to go out to eat. Those onion straws still get my mouth watering.

Davey

My mom came into town for the big day! (My eyes still water when I think about my baby being 1.) She took us out (for all our birthdays, hers included) to, as everyone should know, my favorite kind of restaurant, a Japanese Steakhouse. YUM!

Davey got some ice cream for his birthday. He loved it.

Then we came home for Davey to open his presents. The first few presents took a while to get open but he eventually caught on and had a lot of fun opening presents and getting new toys.

Then on to the cake! I was ready for some big time smashing, cake flying, sugar highing fun! But Davey wasn't so sure about the whole thing. I love this picture, it was taken right after we blew out the candle for him, he was disappointed because he liked the fire. (Davey's birthday theme was The Wheels on the Bus, because it was it favorite song and favorite book we have.)

In the end, Davey only ate a few bites of his cake, but good thing his dad liked it. Davey fed his cake to his dad, very cute, and Joseph ended up looking more like the 1 year old than Davey.

A few days later, Davey had a little friend party. I checked out a huge Wheels on the Bus book (and some other books) and we had story time, cupcakes, and a general tearing down of my house. It was a lot of fun!

Joseph

The birthday fun is starting to wear down. We rented Valkyrie (the Hitler movie with Tom Cruise) and New in Town (with Renée Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr). Joseph requested Stew and Rice as his birthday meal, funny husband.

I was too tired from all of Davey's birthday celebration to make Joseph a cake so I just bought one from the store, but Joseph just wanted the rest of Davey's cake so he ate that instead. (I ended up donating the store bought cake to a church activity).

Here are pictures of Joseph and Davey sharing a laugh on Joe's birthday.

A few days later we used our free Bennihana birthday meals to eat there in SLC. My favorite! YUM!

I've decided I've got to do better planning for all the birthday extravaganza, September wears we out. Whew!
