Mother's Day is easily my favorite day of the year. Every husband has different strengths; mine happens to be great on Mother's Day.
The day started with Joseph and Davey bringing me breakfast in bed. Davey proudly announced that he made the toast and poured the cereal (my favorite: Honey Graham Oh!s). Joseph fried up some eggs.
At church, the primary president invited Gordon to come up with the rest of the primary kids to sing the Mother's Day song. Since I've been practicing with Davey, I could see Gordon had learned parts of the song and was doing a good job singing along. I loved seeing my two boys next to each other singing at church.
In primary Davey gave the scripture in opening exercises. Davey has memorized the first Article of Faith and recited it by himself. He did a great job.
Last Sunday, Joseph was released as Young Men's President. As Davey would say: "Oh, Phew!" Joseph was able to come and help me with my lesson. Joseph didn't actually have to do much, but I think just having another adult in the room naturally helped corral the children. It was a lot more reverent and peaceful day with the CTR 4s.
After church, Joseph cooked up a thoughtful Mother's Day dinner. Menu: steak, homemade french fries, grilled zucchini and corn on the cob.
I thought I'd push my Mother's Day luck just a little more and got Joseph to play a game of Lords of Waterdeep with me. (And I actually won!)
My favorite Mother's Day gift was a survey Davey brought home from preschool last week. I'd seen these floating around online and was thrilled to have one of my own.
What do you love to do the most with your mom? She gives me bandaids when I get hurt.
My mom is 10 feet tall and weighs 8 pounds.
What's the smartest thing your mom has ever told you? When Gordon is naughty, Mommy will take care of it.
My mom's favorite thing to do is rest.
What kind of stuff is your mom really good at? Telling me stuff.
On t.v., she likes to watch shows.
What does your mom do to relax? lay down.
What's your mom's favorite food and favorite drink? Healthy stuff and water.
I love my two little boys more than should be possible. I am getting really excited to welcome a new little one into the home.

What a great update! I am glad you had such a good Mother's Day! I love the survey!
Wow, I can't believe someone read my blog. Can you see it's been a year since I posted. So horrible I know. Thanks for being faithful. I actually wrote the post with the idea that nobody would read it, you know just for journaling. :)
