independance day 2011

For Independence Day, my family went down to see my dad and sister's family.

My dad had just barely (less than 2 weeks) moved into a new house . . . with a pool. Davey loved playing in the pool and ended up getting really brave (too brave?) about jumping in. We arrived in the late afternoon on Friday and left early (really early) morning on Wednesday.

We did a couple of craft projects, like helping the kids make matching tie-dye shirts. Don't they look like a cutie bunch!

Taken on the pool steps: Jackson (nephew), Jeremy (brother), Jacob, Jarom (nephews), Gordon, Davey (sons) Jordyn (niece) and Jared (brother).

We did a three way birthday celebrations while we were all together. Jarom and Jared share a birthday on July 9th and they wanted to squeeze Gordon's birthday (June 15th) in too. Here's Gordon, looking kind of silly, opening one of his gifts.

Also we went to a children's museum one day we were there. All the kids had fun playing around with the many science experiments to play with.

About two weeks before this picture was taken, Davey and a bike handle had a little disagreement. You can still see the damage. It was B.A.D! (but . . . you should have seen the bike handle.)

No Fireworks. No Parade.

but . . . Lots of good food. Lots of swimming. Lots of family. Lots of fun!

U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!

Jackson just saw the first picture and said "Jared's not looking at the camera. He's looking at me cuz he's excited about my pajamas." Hilarious!
