George's First Sleepover

A few weeks ago George had his first sleepover. We were pretty excited for it! We dropped George off at the library on Thursday night. Boy, did they have some fun things planned.

Davey was excited to say good-bye to George. The whole day Davey kept talking about George having fun at the library. There were a few almost stressful moments at bed time when Davey was looking for George; I reminded him that George was at his sleepover at the library and was pacified with his Winnie-the-pooh stuffed animal for the night.

We were the first ones to arrive at the library the next morning to pick George up. We were so excited to see him again and hear about all the fun he had.

When we arrived the librarian asked us what our stuffed animal's name was. When she learned it was George she told us he had been a naughty monkey and didn't sleep a wink. (That George!) She took us into the room where the stuffed animals were waiting. And sure enough all the other animals were tucked in nicely in the story time blanket, but that silly George was monkeying around on the bulletin board.

Here's a picture one of the librarians snapped during the sleepover. George had climbed up on the zebra to read his Curious George book.

Davey was really glad to see George again and listen to the librarian tell us about the fun the stuffed animals had that night.

Davey already is excited for next year's sleepover. Next time we'll bring Tiger, too. (Gordon's favorite stuffed animal.)
