The 9 month Chub-a-Lub-a

Parents can call their kids whatever they want and we often call Gordon - "Chub-a-Lub-a" which means we think he is chubby and we love him.

A few weeks ago Gordon turned 9 months old! Gracious! I'll spare you all the mommy talk about how big and old he is to me and how fast it all happened.

Yesterday Gordon had his well baby check up:

Height - 29 3/4 inches 90-95%
Weight - 20 lbs 9 ozs 50-75% (Gordon didn't have a 6 month check up because he had the chicken pox, remember that, but they weighed him when we went in to check out the pox and he weighted 20 lbs 5 ozs, so he hasn't gained any weight in 3 months, but he also has started crawling, so it's not a worry.)
Head - 45.8 cm 50-75%

All about Gordon:

• The thing we love about Gordon is he sucks his thumb all the time. It is way cute. (check out the picture of him sleeping.)
• He is very good about playing by himself.
• His favorite time of day is when Davey is taking a nap and he can "rule" the living room and toys all by himself.
• His favorite toy to play with are the blocks, he likes either banging them together or banging them on the table.
• He is not so good about sitting still and listening to books. :( If the book is one of the touch and feel kind then he likes to feel the different pages, but if I try to read him a regular book he tries to feel the pictures and then gets upset that they don't feel different and gets bored.
• He can be a little mama's boy. He likes to sit by my feet in the kitchen whenever I'm cooking or washing dishes.
• He has started "babbling" a lot. He likes to say "mamamama," especially when he is sad or in trouble. We can also get him to growl like a tiger sometimes.
• He likes Cheerios and freeze-dried fruit a lot. He likes a mixture of baby oatmeal, cinnamon and baby food fruit ok-ish, he doesn't like vegetables or baby rice cereal.
• He still nurses about 6 to 8 times a day. He doesn't eat much solid food.
• He usually goes down for bed around 7:30 pm and sleeps until sometime between 4 am and 6am and then wakes up again around 7:30 am. He still takes 2 naps a day, although the afternoon nap is getting pretty short and a little iffy.
• When I come to get him in his crib he always starts clapping. It's like I am getting applause.

Well that's all about Gordon I can think of. We think he is one cutie baby and just love him more and more everyday.
