As of "lunch" this afternoon I now deal with this ... Don't go and try to fix your computer screen, that's my seven month trying to climb the stairs.
I've never dealt with this before. I think my previous parenting style leans me toward not buying a gate and trying to teach him either not to climb stairs at all (good luck Kristi) or how to climb safely. More experienced mothers make inputs in the comments, thanks.
But dealing with the above means I also get to deal with this handsome smile all day. What a cutie!

What I am Dealing With . . .

I would get a baby gate. Hailey was 2 when we were staying at my parents house and she hurt herself falling down the stairs. Even though she knew how to go up and down them quite well, all it took was one slip at the top and she looked like a little rag doll tossing and tumbling all the way down to the bottom. It was bad.
Well...having just spent time at my house where chairs live on top of tables, I am sure you know I can only wish you luck! I agree with the baby gate. Let him practice with you by his side and once he is older - like Jared's age - you can take the gates down and he'll be good to navigate on his own.
I say try the last 2 depending on your energy level for the day
