Colorado:: Christmas:: Croup

For Christmas our family flew to Colorado Springs to spend the holiday with Joseph's family. The entire family (except one brother on a mission) were able to be there! We flew in a week before Christmas day, so we had plenty of time to get anxious and excited about our presents.

While waiting for the big day to come we did some last minute shopping, a trip to Focus on the Family's indoor play town, played lots of games and watched a few movies.

On Christmas Eve, we had a traditional Chase family time. We started the night off with a special Christmas program (my goal next time is to make it through without crying, I hate crying) then everybody opened one gift followed by a slew of tasty, tempting and nutritionally devoid food. I had a special request from my dad to open his gift. What to my wondering surprise! A new camera! (see last post on the broken camera) I am still trying to figure out all the settings, but it is great, so let the pictures begin!

Christmas morning tree: oh boy! (Davey with his two cousins, Luke and Samantha)

Davey trying to show off a new toy: it's so heavy

more presents

matching ties

What?!?! Even more toys (Here we stopped taking pictures, too much fun.)

After opening presents, everybody went into the kitchen to eat breakfast. Davey stayed behind and took Samantha's new hat and put it on all by himself and walked around with it. The common theme for the kids was that Davey liked all of Luke and Samantha's toys and Luke liked all of Davey's toys and Samantha didn't care.

Cutie Cousins
All day on Christmas, Davey walked around with a toy knife in his mouth. The next day: a new tooth! Doesn't that give new meaning to "cutting teeth?"

Little Sammy (11 months old) took her first steps while in Colorado and by the end of the trip was walking a lot!

On Sunday the boys wore their matching ties (Joseph's older brother and his son got a set of matching ties, too.)

"Those Crazy Clowns!" What I always say about my two boys, what a pair!

A quick try at a family picture.

We flew home late last night with a snow storm to welcome us back home. Joseph let us stop by the new In and Out in Orem for dinner! Yay! Davey was pretty excited to see some of his old friends (the tall giraffe and other toys) at home and Joseph and I were excited to see our own bed.

Later last night, Davey started to have croup cough. It's been pretty mild so far and Davey's slept most the day away. I am hoping it says mild. (This is the third time Davey's had croup.)

Merry Christmas and a Happy 2010 from the Chases!
