Pampered Chef

Today my long lost sister called. I didn't realize how lost I was while she was lost. A few weeks ago my sister moved to a little town with no cell phone reception, nor does she have her home phone line or Internet installed in her house yet.

Can you see a problem? No way to talk to her. No way to contact her. No connection to her. What was I supposed to do when I had a problem (of which I've had many since she moved away)? How was I supposed to tell when Davey did something new or cute?

This loss expressed it's self in a few different ways and one of them was blogging. I had the most exciting blogging event in a long time (Davey Goes to Disneyland) and it took me almost a month to post about it!

Now that my sister is "back." I feel like I am back to blogging.

Question: Is it wrong to go to a Pampered Chef party knowing before hand that you will not buy anything because there will be free food and free gifts?

I came home very excited about the mini-serving spatula I won! But I have a little nagging feeling inside because I knew the whole time I wasn't going to buy anything. Why am I feeling guilty about this? Should I feel guilty about it?

I think you are fine. They have the free food and gifts to get you to go to the party. Then they can try to convince you that you need whatever they are selling. I am sure lots of people go to those parties for the same reason--free food and free stuff. Just some of them don't make it out without buying something, which is why you get invited.

Don't feel guilty, feel proud. It is hard to make it out of those parties without getting anything.

You should feel no guilt at all. Most of the fun of those parties is being with friends, the food and the chance to win something. Home parties are designed to inspire the kind of guilt you feel but to the point of purchasing. Way to stick to your budget and not get sucked in. :)

Yes you should feel guilty. For about 5 more years at which point you realize that kind of stuff (ie...Arbonne, Mary Kay, Creative Memories, etc...) is junk and they sign up they get what they get!! Don't anyone gasp at my rudeness as people out there enjoy my gold canyon candles they won and creative memories albums that gather dust on their shelves. Such is life...IM BACK :)

No not wrong! Don't feel guilty!
I'm glad you're back! ( and that you could talk to your sister)
Disneyland looked like a blast!
