Down at the Sanpete County Fair

Friday August 27th, my little brother Joseph turned 10 years old! So we drove down to Manti to see what was happening at the Sanpete County Fair to celebrate.

First we grabbed some food, a la Dutch Oven Cook Off. $5 bought you a plate which you could use to gather samples from all the competitors in the cook off. We ended up with so much food, I don't think anybody finished. And it was good.

Then we headed off to "Fun on the Farm." This was a neat activity. Essentially you pretended to be a farmer. At each station you would learn something about farm life or do an activity to earn items for your basket. At the end you could turn your items in for cash (sell your crops and goods) for "cash;" then take your cash to the general store and buy a prize.

Finally, off to the rides!

Later we went out to ice cream and Joseph opened his presents.

My mom and her kids had tickets that night to the demolition derby, but we didn't buy tickets and went home. Hear tell that the demolition derby was awesome.
